In recent years we have been actively encouraging our seven Dioceses to respond seriously and urgently to growing global climate change through:
- Synod debates and discussions
- presentations, workshops, conferences
- campaigning for climate justice with our overseas partners
- engaging with Transition Towns and low carbon communities
- attempting to reduce the carbon footprint of our church buildings, land, travel and lifestyles
- conferences on heating and lighting churches
- establishing the EcoChurch Southwest project
- exploring energy investment issues in our Dioceses
- promoting worship resources and the Season of Creation
- addressing fuel poverty in our local communities
- negotiating deals for green electricity and gas for churches
- linking with other churches across England and Europe via for example the European Christian Environmental Network
