Climate negotiations in Paris

This year is vital for the climate, as governments are meeting in Paris between 30 November and 11 December, and hopefully they will come to a ground-breaking agreement.

There are a number of activities taking place across the six Dioceses in the South West in the run up to the Paris Summit, and more planned during the Summit itself.

Exeter

The Diocese Environment Officer is encouraging people to pray and fast for the climate, and has produced a short service of prayer (available here).

Sunday 29 November - The Diocesan Environment Group has produced special prayers for use on Advent Sunday, which falls on the eve of the Summit (available here), and is arranging local pilgrimages across the Diocese.

They also suggest that clergy wear a green dog collar, and all add a green ribbon to their social media.

Truro

Saturday 14 November - A walk from Land’s End to Sennen to begin our virtual journey to Paris, starting at 2.00pm.

You can also support one person from the Diocese in his cycle ride to Paris.
